8 May Narad Jayanti Muhurat, Pooja Vidhi & Janam Katha 2020 : Narada Jayanti is commended upon the arrival of Vaishakha Krishna Pratipada as the birthday of ‘Devarishi Narada Muni’. This year, the date falls on 8 May. Thus Narada Jayanti will be commended on 8 May. Narada Muni is said to be the delegate of the divine beings. They used to be the mechanism of exchange in the three universes. Consequently the birth commemoration of Narada Muni is likewise celebrated as Journalist Day.

Worship method of Narada Jayanti
- Bathe before sunrise
- Vow to fast
- Offer prayers in neat and clean clothes
- Offer sandalwood, basil leaves, kumkum, incense sticks, flowers to Narada Muni.
- After worshiping in the evening, devotees perform aarti of Lord Vishnu
- Do charity work
- Offer food to Brahmins and donate clothes and money to them
Narad Jayanti Janam Katha
According to legend, Narada Muni is the psyche son of Brahmaji. He is said to have undergone severe penance in previous lives to become the son of Brahmaji. Narada Muni Gandharva is said to have been born in a clan in the past and was very proud of his form. His name in the previous life was Upbarana.
Once a few Apsaras and Gandharvas were worshiping Lord Brahma with song and dance. Then Upbarna came there with the ladies in adornment. Seeing this, Brahma ji became very angry and cursed Upbarana that he would be born in ‘Shudra Vagina’.
Upabarna was born as a son of a Shudra maid by the curse of Brahma ji. The child resolved to devote his whole life to the devotion of God and a desire was born to know and see God.
After continuous tenacity of the child, one day the Akashvani suddenly said that in this birth, that child will not have the vision of God but in the next life he will be able to reclaim them as his councilor.
