Swami Vivekananda was born on 12 January 1863 in Kolkata (Calcutta). His original name was Narendranath Dutt. His father, Viswanath Dutt, was an advocate in the Calcutta High Court. His mother Bhuvaneshwari Devi was a duodenum. Swami Vivekananda traveled all over India on foot. In 1893, Chicago went to the Parliament of Religions and remained in America until 1896.
